The head unit, fascia and wiring must suit your vehicle specification. We check the factory system first; steering wheel controls, cameras and other original functions may need separate interfaces or may not be retained.
We select a fascia and mounting brackets for the dashboard layout once the original unit and trim are identified.
The wiring harness is selected for the factory connectors. Some cars need a CAN box (also called a Canbox or CAN bus interface) for steering wheel controls or vehicle signals; amplifier integration and supported functions vary by vehicle specification.
Where supported by the chosen unit, microphone, USB and GPS leads are routed and tested as part of the agreed installation.
We connect an agreed camera only after checking its signal, power and connectors. The functions supported on your car are tested before handover.

We identify the existing radio, dashboard, steering wheel controls, original camera and amplifier. Equipment can differ even within the same model and year, so we check the exact vehicle specification.
After checking the car, we recommend a compatible screen and confirm which phone, camera and original functions the selected unit can support.
We identify the fascia, brackets, harness and any CAN box or amplifier interface needed for the confirmed configuration.
Once compatibility and the agreed parts are confirmed, we remove the factory unit and route the replacement wiring behind the dashboard.
We install the confirmed Android unit and agreed accessories. Original camera integration is attempted only where the car, signal and selected interface support it.
We test the functions agreed for your vehicle, including applicable sound, phone pairing, microphone, steering wheel controls and camera. We explain any factory features that cannot be retained.

Steering wheel controls can often be retained, but this depends on the vehicle specification, radio, wiring and sometimes a CAN box (CAN bus interface). We check which buttons can be supported before installation and test the agreed functions afterward; full original functionality is not guaranteed.
An original reverse camera may be compatible after checking its signal type, voltage, connectors and the selected head unit. Some vehicles require an adapter and some cameras cannot be retained. We confirm the options for your car before quoting — or fit a new one with our reversing camera installation.

Basic radio and supported local media functions do not normally need mobile data. Online music, downloads and live traffic do. Depending on the head unit, you can use a phone hotspot, Wi-Fi or supported mobile-data hardware. A SIM slot is not included on every model. Offline navigation depends on the app and downloaded maps.
The fitted price depends on the Android head unit, vehicle-specific fascia, wiring, possible CAN box or amplifier interface and agreed extras. Many installations can be completed on the same day. Factory amplifiers, extra wiring, dashboard access and reverse camera fitting can add time. We confirm the expected workshop time after checking your car and the work required.
Possibly, subject to the Japanese import’s dashboard, wiring and equipment. We check radio reception, steering wheel controls, camera and amplifier compatibility individually. Replacing the radio does not change the language of a separate instrument cluster — that is a Japanese import conversion.
