Two kinds of Nissan, two reasons for the same job
Irish and UK cars. Qashqai, Juke, X-Trail, Micra, Pulsar and Navara built before about 2019 have NissanConnect without CarPlay — a 5 or 7-inch screen with a row of buttons, sometimes just a CD radio. There is no software update that adds CarPlay, so the answer is a car-specific Android screen: wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, the factory camera carried over, steering buttons kept.
Japanese imports. Note, Serena, Elgrand, March and Cube arrive with the menus in Japanese and the tuner on the Japanese FM band, which reaches almost nothing here. The same Android screen solves both at once — English interface and the Irish band — or, if you want to keep the original unit, we convert its language and recode the tuner instead. Nissans from 2019 with the 8-inch screen already have wired CarPlay; there a wireless adapter is all that is worth adding.

What changes on the dash
The Nissan radio comes out on its side brackets and the new unit goes back on the same brackets behind a Nissan-shaped fascia, so the opening is filled properly rather than framed by a universal trim. Power, speakers, camera, steering buttons and the antenna all come through the factory plugs — nothing is spliced. The climate panel on these cars is physical and stays where it is. On imports we check the antenna and the FM band before the car comes in, so both jobs get done in one visit.
