Two kinds of Nissan come through the door
Irish and UK cars — Qashqai, Juke, X-Trail, Micra, Pulsar, Navara — with the factory CD radio or the early NissanConnect screen that has no CarPlay. These take a car-specific Android screen with a matching fascia: wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, the factory camera carried over, steering buttons kept.
Japanese imports — Note, Serena, Elgrand, March, Cube, and plenty of Leafs — with a Japanese-language unit and the Japanese FM band that stops at 90 MHz. We fit an English Android screen and, if you want the original radio kept for the boot camera or the TV, recode its FM band to the Irish one. Both are on our Japanese import conversion page.
Nissans from about 2019 with the 8-inch NissanConnect screen already have wired CarPlay; there a wireless adapter is all that is worth adding.

What you get in the Nissan
A 9 or 10-inch Android screen shaped for the dash: wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Google Maps, Waze, Spotify, YouTube, Bluetooth calls, built-in GPS and a SIM slot. Android 12 on an eight-core processor, 2 GB with an IPS panel or 4 GB with a QLED panel. Reverse camera input, steering buttons kept, climate panel untouched. The Qashqai and X-Trail units are cut for the Nissan fascia, so the screen sits flush with the vents rather than in a universal frame.
Fitting a Nissan radio properly
Nissan radios are held by side brackets that transfer to the new unit, and the harness picks up power, speakers, camera and CAN in the factory plugs — no splicing. On J11 Qashqai and T32 X-Trail with the around-view camera we keep the camera feed live, which the universal units cannot do. On imports we check the antenna and the FM band before the car comes in.
