Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be added to the Toyota Yaris by replacing the factory radio with an Android touchscreen that drops into the original dash opening and keeps the steering wheel controls. The factory radio came out and an Android head unit went in its place, supplied as a kit for the Toyota Yaris with the model-specific fascia and a plug-in harness, so nothing on the car was cut. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connect the moment you get in, the steering wheel buttons are kept (through a CAN interface where the car needs one), and the unit has a reverse camera input and built-in GPS with offline maps for the roads where coverage disappears.
