Volkswagen · Tiguan

Volkswagen Tiguan upgrades, generation by generation.

Radio King upgrades the Volkswagen Tiguan: 5N cars swap the RCD or RNS unit for a Tiguan Android screen, the AD1 gets App-Connect by coding on MIB2 or a wireless adapter, and the CT1 has wireless CarPlay from the factory, so the work there is cameras, sensors and ambient light. Send your reg and we confirm the route.

Generations

Which Tiguan do you have?

The head unit decides the route, and it changed with every generation. Find your years, then pick the service above for what we fit and from what price.

FAQ

Volkswagen Tiguan: questions people ask.

Answers for Tiguan owners. Something else? Message us on WhatsApp — we usually reply in under 5 minutes.

Ask on WhatsApp
Which Tiguan do you see most in the workshop?

The AD1 from 2016 to 2024, for App-Connect activation, wireless adapters and reversing cameras, including Japanese imports that need maps and the FM band sorted. 5N owners come for the Tiguan Android screen because the RCD radios have no usable display. CT1 cars come in for dash cams and extended ambient lighting.

Is the Tiguan Allspace any different for this work?

No. The Allspace shares the AD1 dashboard and MIB units, so activation, cameras, sensors and dash cams follow the same routes; only the tailgate loom is a little longer for the rear camera. Send the reg and we confirm which head unit the car has before you book.

Does the eHybrid change anything for a dash cam?

Only where we take the power. On AD1 and CT1 eHybrid cars the dash cam is hardwired on the 12 V side from the dash fuse panel with a low-voltage cut-off, never from the high-voltage system, so parking mode works and the 12 V battery is protected as on any other Tiguan.

Which Volkswagen Tiguan generation do I have?

5N — 2007–2016: RCD 310 or RCD 510 radio and RNS 315 or RNS 510 navigation; MIB Composition Media on the last cars from 2015. AD1 — 2016–2024 (five-seat and Allspace seven-seat): MIB2 Composition Media, Discover Media or Discover Pro with App-Connect to the 2020 facelift; MIB3 with wireless App-Connect on most later cars. CT1 — 2024 on: MIB4 with a 12.9-inch screen (15-inch optional), wireless CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory. Not sure? Send the reg on WhatsApp and we tell you the generation and the route.

What does Radio King fit on a Volkswagen Tiguan?

Reversing camera: Badge camera coded into the MIB screen on the AD1 and CT1; Android screen or video interface on the 5N. CarPlay: Android screen on the 5N, App-Connect coding and wireless adapters on the AD1, factory wireless on the CT1. Dash cam: Hardwired from the driver's-side fuse panel with a low-voltage cut-off; eHybrid cars on the 12 V side. Car radio: Tiguan-specific Android screen for the 5N, a larger screen for Composition Media AD1 cars. Parking sensors: Park Pilot coded into the factory display on the AD1, colour-matched aftermarket sensors on the 5N. Ambient lighting: LED kits for the 5N, the factory ambient strip extended on the AD1 and CT1. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

How long do jobs on a Volkswagen Tiguan take?

Reversing camera: two to three hours. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Dash cam: one to two hours for a front camera, about two with a rear camera. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Most Tiguan owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

Do you keep the factory system on a Volkswagen Tiguan?

5N: the RCD 310 or RCD 510 radio and RNS 315 or RNS 510 navigation; MIB Composition Media on the last cars from 2015 stays and we add to it. AD1: the MIB2 Composition Media, Discover Media or Discover Pro with App-Connect to the 2020 facelift; MIB3 with wireless App-Connect on most later cars stays and we add to it. CT1: the MIB4 with a 12.9-inch screen (15-inch optional), wireless CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.

How do I book a Volkswagen Tiguan in, and is there a warranty?

Send the reg or the year on WhatsApp or the form below and we confirm the generation, the route, the price and the next free slot. Every job carries a one-year warranty on the work, done at our workshop in Rosemount Business Park, Dublin 11, Monday to Saturday.
