Mk8 vans from 2014, nearly always for a reversing camera, and a good number of 2006–2014 Mk7 vans for a camera or a screen to replace the 6000CD. Fleet vans with the basic 4-inch radio are the most common Android screen job; SYNC 3 vans mostly come in for the CarPlay update and a camera on the factory screen.

Yes. The Connect and the Tourneo Custom and Tourneo minibus share Ford's radios and SYNC units with the vans of the same years, so the routes are the same: a screen or mirror monitor on the older ones, a camera into SYNC 3 and the CarPlay update on the newer ones. The Transit Custom has its own page because the body and dash differ.

Mostly the wiring runs and the lighting. On converted vans we route the camera loom around the fit-out rather than through it, and the load-area LED lighting becomes living-area lighting on its own switch. The head unit and CarPlay work are the same as on the van it started as. Let us know the conversion when you book so we allow the time.

Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat subwoofer with its own amplifier, nothing in the load area. Soundproofing: Cab doors, floor and bulkhead treated; load area on request.

Reversing camera: two to three hours. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Parking sensors: two to three hours for one end, about half a day for front and rear. Most Transit owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
