The 6000CD in a Mk7 asks for its code after the battery has been disconnected. If the code card is missing, the serial on the unit lets it be decoded, which we can usually do while the van is in. Mk8 SYNC units do not ask for a code. If the 6000CD has failed outright, an Android screen with DAB and a camera input is the usual replacement.
How much does car radio cost on a Ford Transit?
It depends on the generation. Mk6 (2000–2006): from €290; Mk7 (2006–2014): from €290; Mk8 (2014 on): from €290. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

How long does car radio take on a Ford Transit?
Two to three hours, usually the same day on the Ford Transit Mk6, Mk7 and Mk8. You can wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
What stays factory when you fit car radio on a Ford Transit?
On every Transit we work on — Mk6, Mk7 and Mk8 — the steering-wheel buttons, the factory amplifier and speakers, the reverse camera and the climate controls stay; the new unit adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB and a camera input.
