Ford Kuga Android screen & radio upgrade, generation by generation.

Mk1 cars from 2008 to 2012 with the 6000CD or Sony radio, and 2013–2016 Mk2 cars with SYNC 1 or the Sony DAB unit, where the small display cannot run CarPlay. The screen sits on a Kuga fascia with the climate controls kept, DAB, a camera input and the steering buttons wired in. SYNC 3 cars from the 2016 facelift and every Mk3 usually keep the factory unit, which does CarPlay after an update or from new.

It depends on the generation. Mk1 (2008–2012): from €290; Mk2 (2013–2019): from €290; Mk3 (2020 on): from €290. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

Mk1, built 2008–2012 (6000CD radio or the Sony CD unit; a small navigation screen on some Titanium cars, no CarPlay): Android screen with a Kuga fascia in the 6000CD position; steering buttons kept, DAB and a camera input built in. Mk2, built 2013–2019 (SYNC 1 with a 4.2-inch display or the Sony DAB unit with a 5-inch screen on 2013–2016 cars, SYNC 2 with an 8-inch touchscreen on Titanium X; SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen from the 2016 facelift, CarPlay after a software update): 9-inch Android screen replaces SYNC 1 or the Sony unit and its button block on a matching fascia, climate panel kept; SYNC 2 cars can take the screen too, SYNC 3 cars usually keep the factory unit. Mk3, built 2020 on (SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen and CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory; SYNC 4 with a 13.2-inch screen from the 2024 facelift): SYNC 3 and SYNC 4 stay; a larger Android screen goes in only on request, with the climate panel and any B&O amplifier retained.

Two to three hours, usually the same day on the Ford Kuga Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3. You can wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
