It depends on the generation. Mk1 (2008–2012): from €650; Mk2 (2013–2019): from €150; Mk3 (2020 on): from €150. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

Mk1, built 2008–2012 (6000CD radio or the Sony CD unit; a small navigation screen on some Titanium cars, no CarPlay): Android screen with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto in place of the 6000CD or Sony radio, as the radio has no usable screen. Mk2, built 2013–2019 (SYNC 1 with a 4.2-inch display or the Sony DAB unit with a 5-inch screen on 2013–2016 cars, SYNC 2 with an 8-inch touchscreen on Titanium X; SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen from the 2016 facelift, CarPlay after a software update): SYNC 3 cars: a software update to version 3 unlocks CarPlay and Android Auto on the 8-inch screen; SYNC 2 cars get a CarPlay box on that screen, SYNC 1 cars the Android screen. Mk3, built 2020 on (SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen and CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory; SYNC 4 with a 13.2-inch screen from the 2024 facelift): Factory CarPlay and Android Auto; a wireless adapter on SYNC 3 cars, wireless set-up on SYNC 4 cars, and map or region changes on imported cars.

Mk1: two to three hours; Mk2: under an hour; Mk3: about an hour. You can wait at the workshop or drop the Kuga in the morning and collect it the same day.

Mk1: the display is replaced, but the steering-wheel buttons, the factory amplifier and the climate controls are kept. Mk2: nothing physical changes — the SYNC 1 with a 4.2-inch display or the Sony DAB unit with a 5-inch screen on 2013–2016 cars, SYNC 2 with an 8-inch touchscreen on Titanium X; SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen from the 2016 facelift, CarPlay after a software update stays and the CarPlay tile simply appears. Mk3: CarPlay is factory-fitted, so we only add to it.
