Radio King does CarPlay and Android Auto retrofit on every Ford Transit generation we see: Mk6 (2000–2006): Single-DIN Android screen with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto in the radio slot, as the van has no screen of its own; Mk7 (2006–2014): Android screen with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto in the 6000CD position on a double-DIN fascia; there is no SYNC unit to build on; Mk8 (2014 on): SYNC 3 6-inch vans: a software update unlocks CarPlay and Android Auto on the factory screen; 2019-on vans already have it and get a wireless adapter; SYNC 1 and basic-radio vans get the Android screen. How long does CarPlay take on a Ford Transit?
Mk6: two to three hours; Mk7: two to three hours; Mk8: under an hour. You can wait at the workshop or drop the Transit in the morning and collect it the same day.
What stays factory when you fit CarPlay on a Ford Transit?
