On Mk8 vans with SYNC 3 or SYNC 4, yes: the camera goes in through a camera interface or as a factory-style retrofit, so it comes up on the factory screen when you select reverse. Vans with the basic radio and a 4-inch display, and every Mk6 and Mk7, have no usable screen, so the camera shows on a mirror monitor or on the Android screen if we fit one.

The body decides the camera. Luton and box bodies get a surface-mount camera with a long loom run through the body to the cab; a panel van gets the camera above the rear doors or in the number-plate light. Minibuses take the same camera as the van. On chassis cabs with a tipper we mount the camera on the body so it is not blocked. Tell us the body when you send the reg.

It depends on the generation. Mk6 (2000–2006): from €220; Mk7 (2006–2014): from €220; Mk8 (2014 on): from €220. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

Mk6, built 2000–2006 (4000RDS or 6000CD radio in a single-DIN slot, no screen): Camera above the rear doors or in the number-plate light shown on a mirror monitor; a bracket camera on the box of a Luton. Mk7, built 2006–2014 (6000CD radio, with Bluetooth, USB and voice control on many 2011–2014 vans; no screen): Camera on the rear door top or the number-plate light on a mirror monitor, or fed to the Android screen if we fit one; long-wheelbase and high-roof vans get the extended loom. Mk8, built 2014 on (SYNC 1 with a 4-inch display on 2014–2016 vans, SYNC 3 with a 6-inch touchscreen from 2016, an 8-inch SYNC 3 with CarPlay from the factory from the 2019 facelift, and SYNC 4 with a 12-inch screen from 2024; fleet vans often have the basic radio with a 4-inch display): Factory-look camera fed into the SYNC 3 or SYNC 4 screen through a camera interface, or a factory retrofit coded in; on the 4-inch radio a mirror monitor, and on Luton and box bodies a surface-mount camera with a long loom.
