B6 — 2005–2010 (saloon, estate and Passat CC from 2008): RCD 300 or RCD 500 CD radio; RNS 300 navigation, RNS 510 on late cars and the CC. B7 — 2010–2014 (saloon, estate, Alltrack and CC): RCD 310 or RCD 510 radio; RNS 315 or RNS 510 navigation. B8 — 2015–2023 (saloon, estate, Alltrack and GTE): MIB2 Composition Media, Discover Media or Discover Pro with App-Connect on most cars from 2016; MIB3 with wireless App-Connect on many cars after the 2019 facelift. CarPlay: Android screen on the B6 and B7, App-Connect coding on MIB2 B8 cars, factory wireless CarPlay on the B9. Reversing camera: Badge camera coded into the MIB screen on the B8 and B9, Android screen or video interface on the B6 and B7. Parking sensors: Park Pilot coded into the factory display on the B8, colour-matched sensors and repairs on the B6 and B7. Subwoofer: Spare-wheel-well or under-seat subwoofer on a DSP amplifier; Dynaudio and Harman Kardon cars keep their amp. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Parking sensors: two to three hours for one end, about half a day for front and rear. Most Passat owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
