The 2016–2020 eighth generation with the Touch 2 unit, for a CarPlay box or an Android screen and a tailgate camera, and the 2005–2015 pick-up for an Android screen with DAB and a camera. Owners of the 2020 facelift come for a wireless adapter for the factory CarPlay, a camera on the base trims or a dash cam.

Yes. The camera goes in the tailgate handle or on a plate bracket, below the canopy, and the cable runs through the tailgate and along the chassis loom into the cab, so it survives a working life. Rear sensors sit in the bumper clear of the tow bar. Both show on the Android screen or the Touch 2 unit, and the sensors have their own buzzer in the cab.

AN10 / AN20 / AN30 — 2005–2015 (single, extra and double cab): Factory CD radio without a screen; a Toyota Touch 6.1-inch on some 2012–2015 Invincible cars. Reversing camera: Tailgate camera on the Android screen, the Touch 2 input or the factory unit, tow bar allowed for. Car radio: Android screen with DAB, camera input and built-in maps in place of the CD radio or Touch 2. CarPlay: Android screen on 2005–2015, box or screen on 2016–2020, factory CarPlay from the 2020 facelift. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED strips in the cab doors and dash, colour from your phone. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Colour-matched sensors with a factory-style tone, shown on the screen where the car supports it. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat subwoofer with its own amplifier, nothing in the load area. Soundproofing: Cab doors, floor and bulkhead treated; load area on request.

Reversing camera: two to three hours. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most Hilux owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
