Yes. The CarPlay box and the Android screen are fitted with the adapter that keeps the Bang & Olufsen amplifier in play, and a subwoofer is driven by a DSP that takes its signal from the factory system, so the fader, balance and sound settings in the MMI keep working. No speaker is replaced unless you ask.

Only for dash cams and amplifiers. We take power from the 12-volt fuse panel and never touch the high-voltage system, and the cut-off is set so parking mode cannot drain the 12-volt battery. Screens, CarPlay and cameras follow the same routes as any other FY of the same year.

Reversing camera: Camera through the box or a video interface on the 8R, coded into the MMI on the FY. CarPlay: Our wireless CarPlay box on the 8R and 2021-on FY, activation on 2017–2020 FY, factory on the GU. Car radio: 10.25-inch Android screen with the MMI knob kept on the 8R and pre-facelift FY. Dash cam: Hardwired from the driver's side fuse panel with a low-voltage cut-off; 12-volt side only on the plug-in. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kit on the 8R, extended factory ambient lighting on the FY and GU. Subwoofer: Slim boot-floor enclosure on a DSP amplifier; Bang & Olufsen amplifiers stay. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Colour-matched sensors with a factory-style tone, shown on the screen where the car supports it. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

Reversing camera: two to three hours. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Dash cam: one to two hours for a front camera, about two with a rear camera. Most Q5 owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
