A wireless CarPlay interface went in behind the factory MMI touch display, so the original screen, radio, settings and steering wheel buttons all work exactly as before, and the module adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as one more source on the same screen. Nothing on the car was cut: the interface plugs into the existing connectors, and if it is ever removed the Audi Q5 returns to stock with no trace.

Every interface carries a one-year warranty and after-sale support from the people who installed it. If the factory unit has no screen at all, the alternative is an Android head unit with CarPlay built in.
