Adding Apple CarPlay
The multimedia part of the job was the installation of a CarPlay Box. Apple CarPlay brings supported iPhone apps into an interface designed for use in the car, with navigation, audio, calling and messaging features.
For everyday journeys, those features can include directions from a compatible maps app, music and podcasts, and supported phone and message functions. The apps available depend on the connected iPhone and its software. CarPlay gives access to compatible apps rather than duplicating everything on the phone.
A reversing camera fitted alongside the interface
