C6 cars with MMI 2G High and 2011–2014 C7 cars with MMI 3G+ get the box: CarPlay and Android Auto on the factory screen, worked from the MMI knob, with the reversing camera through the same box if you want one, as on the 2013 A6 we did. 2015–2018 C7 facelift cars with MIB2 can often be activated by coding. C8 cars mostly have it already.

Yes. 2018–2020 C8 cars on MIB2+ have the smartphone interface wired only, and a small wireless adapter plugged into the factory port makes the phone connect on its own every time you get in. Cars from around 2021 on MIB3 have wireless CarPlay from the factory, so there we only sort pairing problems and settings on imported cars.

It depends on the generation. C6 (4F) (2004–2011): from €450; C7 (4G) (2011–2018): from €150; C8 (4K) (2018 on): from €150. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

C6 (4F), built 2004–2011 (MMI 2G Basic with a small display, or MMI 2G High navigation with a 7-inch colour screen; Bose optional): CarPlay box on the MMI 2G High screen, worked from the MMI knob; an Android screen on cars with the basic MMI display. C7 (4G), built 2011–2018 (MMI radio plus with a 6.5-inch screen or MMI navigation plus on MMI 3G+ to 2014; MIB2 with MMI touch from the 2015 facelift; Bose or Bang & Olufsen optional): CarPlay box on the MMI 3G+ screen on 2011–2014 cars, the job we did on a 2013 A6; coding activation of the smartphone interface on MIB2 facelift cars where the hardware allows, a box on the rest. C8 (4K), built 2018 on (MMI touch response with two touchscreens, MIB2+ on 2018–2020 cars and MIB3 from around 2021; Audi smartphone interface on most cars, wireless on MIB3): Usually factory-fitted; a wireless adapter on wired MIB2+ cars, activation by coding where the interface was not ordered, settings sorted on imported cars.

C6 (4F): two to four hours; C7 (4G): under an hour; C8 (4K): under an hour. You can wait at the workshop or drop the A6 in the morning and collect it the same day.
