Yes, if the car has MMI navigation plus: a CarPlay box goes behind the dash and CarPlay and Android Auto appear on the factory pop-up screen, controlled from the MMI knob. Cars with only the Concert or Chorus radio have no video input, so there the route is an Android screen that replaces the radio and the pop-up display together.
My A1 GB has no CarPlay icon in the MMI. Can it be switched on?
Usually, yes. On the GB the Audi smartphone interface is in the head unit and only switched off when the option was not ordered, so we enable it by coding with no parts. If your car already shows CarPlay but needs a cable, a small wireless adapter makes it connect on its own. Send the reg and we check the build first.
How much does CarPlay cost on a Audi A1?
It depends on the generation. 8X (2010–2018): from €450; GB (2018 on): from €150. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.
