The 2012–2018 E180, mostly Hybrids, nearly always for CarPlay: a box on the Touch 2 screen or an Android screen with DAB and a camera. The 2007–2012 E150 comes in for an Android screen to replace the CD radio. Touring Sports owners often add a reversing camera at the same visit because of the long tailgate.

Only the screen itself. The fascia kit is shaped for the Auris dash, so the screen sits flush and the vents, hazard switch and climate controls stay where they are. The plug-in harness means nothing is cut, and the steering-wheel buttons work through a CAN adapter. If you sell the car, the original unit can go back in an hour.

E150 — 2007–2012 (three and five-door hatch): Factory CD radio without a screen on nearly all cars. E180 — 2012–2018 (hatch and Touring Sports estate): Toyota Touch 6.1-inch on 2013–2015 cars, Touch 2 or Touch 2 with Go from the 2015 facelift; no CarPlay. Not sure? CarPlay: Android screen on the E150, a CarPlay box on the Touch 2 screen or an Android screen on the E180. Car radio: Android screen with DAB and a camera input in place of the CD radio, Touch or Touch 2 unit. Reversing camera: Tailgate camera on the Android screen or through the Touch 2 unit's camera input. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Colour-matched sensors with a factory-style tone, shown on the screen where the car supports it. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most Auris owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

E150: the Factory CD radio without a screen on nearly all cars stays and we add to it. E180: the Toyota Touch 6.1-inch on 2013–2015 cars, Touch 2 or Touch 2 with Go from the 2015 facelift; no CarPlay stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
