Mercedes-Benz · C-Class

Mercedes-Benz C-Class upgrades, generation by generation.

Radio King upgrades the Mercedes-Benz C-Class by generation: the W203 and early W204 get an Android screen, the W204 facelift a CarPlay box on the NTG4.5 screen, the W205 a box or activation on NTG5.5, and the W206 has MBUX, so the work is cameras, sensors, sound, dash cams and ambient light. Send your reg and we confirm the route.

Generations

Which C-Class do you have?

The head unit decides the route, and it changed with every generation. Find your years, then pick the service above for what we fit and from what price.

FAQ

Mercedes-Benz C-Class: questions people ask.

Answers for C-Class owners. Something else? Message us on WhatsApp — we usually reply in under 5 minutes.

Ask on WhatsApp
Which C-Class do you see most in the workshop?

The W204 and W205, mostly for CarPlay: Android screens on the early W204, the wireless box on NTG4.5 and NTG5 cars, activation on NTG5.5 facelift cars. W203 owners come for Android screens, because the Audio 20 has no screen worth keeping. W206 owners mostly want dash cams, front sensors, a reversing camera and extended ambient lighting.

Does the Burmester system survive an Android screen or a speaker upgrade?

Yes. On W205 cars with Burmester the Android screen is fitted with the fibre-optic adapter, so the factory amplifier and every speaker keep working, and the sound settings stay where they were. For speaker upgrades on harman/kardon and Burmester cars we change the speakers only and leave the amplifier in place, matched for impedance so nothing is overdriven.

Do you need the car for a full day?

Most C-Class jobs take two to four hours: activation is under an hour, a CarPlay box or a set of sensors half a morning, an Android screen or a camera with coding half a day. You can wait at the Dublin 11 workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it after lunch.

Which Mercedes-Benz C-Class generation do I have?

W203 — 2000–2007 (Saloon, S203 estate and CL203 Sports Coupé): Audio 10 or Audio 20 radio, Audio 50 APS navigation; COMAND APS on a few cars. W204 — 2007–2014 (Saloon, S204 estate and C204 coupé): Audio 20 or COMAND on NTG4 to 2011; the 2011 facelift brought NTG4.5 with Audio 20 CD or COMAND Online and the 5.8 or 7-inch screen. W205 — 2014–2021 (Saloon, S205 estate, C205 coupé and A205 cabriolet): Audio 20 or COMAND Online on NTG5 with the 7 or 8.4-inch screen; CarPlay optional on some cars from 2016; the 2018 facelift brought NTG5.5 with the 10.25-inch display. W206 — 2021 on (Saloon and S206 estate): MBUX (NTG7) with the 11.9-inch portrait touchscreen; CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory. Not sure? Send the reg on WhatsApp and we tell you the generation and the route.

What does Radio King fit on a Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits on the W203 and W204, extended factory ambient lighting on the W205 and W206. CarPlay: Android screen on the W203, a box on the W204, activation or a box on the W205, factory CarPlay on the W206. Parking sensors: Parktronic coded in on the W204, W205 and W206 where the loom allows, colour-matched sensors on the W203. Car radio: A 9-inch Android screen on the W203, a 10.25-inch screen with the COMAND knob kept on the W204 and W205. Reversing camera: Camera coded into NTG5 and MBUX, through an interface on NTG4.5, on the Android screen on older cars. Speakers: Plug-in door and dash speakers; harman/kardon and Burmester cars keep the factory amplifier. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse panel with parking mode; hybrids on the 12 V side only. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

How long do jobs on a Mercedes-Benz C-Class take?

Ambient lighting: two to four hours. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Parking sensors: two to three hours for one end, about half a day for front and rear. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Most C-Class owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

Do you keep the factory system on a Mercedes-Benz C-Class?

W203: the Audio 10 or Audio 20 radio, Audio 50 APS navigation; COMAND APS on a few cars stays and we add to it. W204: the Audio 20 or COMAND on NTG4 to 2011; the 2011 facelift brought NTG4.5 with Audio 20 CD or COMAND Online and the 5.8 or 7-inch screen stays and we add to it. W205: the Audio 20 or COMAND Online on NTG5 with the 7 or 8.4-inch screen; CarPlay optional on some cars from 2016; the 2018 facelift brought NTG5.5 with the 10.25-inch display stays and we add to it. W206: the MBUX (NTG7) with the 11.9-inch portrait touchscreen; CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
