Honda Accord upgrades, generation by generation.

CU and CW cars from 2008 to 2015 for Android screens, and a growing number of imported Accord Hybrids on the CR and CV bodies for the same job or for a wireless CarPlay adapter. CL cars come in for a stereo upgrade and a camera. Soundproofing and speaker work is popular on the Accord because the cabin is quiet enough to notice the difference.

Yes. On CL and CU cars with the factory premium amplifier the Android screen is wired through an adapter that feeds that amplifier, so every speaker keeps playing and fade and balance still work. On imported Accord Hybrids without a separate amplifier we add a compact DSP amplifier when the owner wants more than the standard speakers.

CL / CM — 2003–2008 (Saloon and CM Tourer estate): CD radio built into the dashboard; Honda DVD navigation with a 6.5-inch screen on the Executive; premium audio on higher trims. CU / CW — 2008–2015 (Saloon and CW Tourer estate): CD radio with a display above the vents; Honda satellite navigation with an 8-inch screen on the EX; premium audio on higher trims. CR — 2013–2019 (Accord Hybrid saloon): Gathers navigation unit with Japanese menus and a Japanese FM band; no CarPlay. CV — 2018–2022 (Accord Hybrid saloon): Honda Connect 8-inch touchscreen with Japanese menus; CarPlay usually present but maps and FM band set for Japan. Not sure? Car radio: Android screen with a matching fascia on CL and CU cars, or in place of the Gathers unit on imported Hybrids. CarPlay: Android screen on CL, CU and CR cars; wireless adapter or Android screen on the imported CV. Reversing camera: Camera on the Android screen on older cars, factory camera kept and rewired on EX and imported cars. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters on every generation; premium audio cars keep the factory amplifier. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Parking sensors: Colour-matched sensors with a factory-style tone, shown on the screen where the car supports it. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Speakers: two to four hours depending on how many speakers are changed. Most Accord owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
