2014 Honda Accord CR6 Dashboard Conversion from Japanese to English
Japanese-import vehicles often arrive in Ireland with excellent factory equipment, but one practical problem can make everyday driving unnecessarily difficult: the dashboard and driver information display remain in Japanese.
This 2014 Honda Accord CR6 Hybrid came to Radio King for a professional Japanese-to-English dashboard conversion.
Instead of replacing the original instrument cluster, we converted the supported dashboard interface so the driver can now read vehicle information, trip data, settings and supported system messages in English while retaining the original Honda appearance.
The Problem with the Original Japanese Dashboard
The CR6 Honda Accord was produced for the Japanese domestic market, so its factory instrument cluster can display important vehicle information in Japanese.
That may include system messages, vehicle settings, trip information and driver-assistance notifications.
The dashboard itself works perfectly, but for an English-speaking driver in Ireland, navigating these menus or understanding a warning message can be unnecessarily difficult.
What We Changed
The original Honda instrument cluster remained in the vehicle.
Our work focused on converting the supported dashboard language from Japanese to English, allowing the driver to use the existing factory system without replacing the cluster or changing the appearance of the dashboard.
After the conversion, the display can show English information such as:
- trip and average-speed information;
- vehicle settings;
- driver-assistance menus;
- supported warning and system messages;
- everyday driver information.
Original Honda Instrument Cluster Retained
One of the biggest advantages of this type of conversion is that the dashboard does not need an aftermarket replacement.
The same Honda instrument cluster remains installed in the vehicle, so the original design, gauges and hybrid-specific displays are preserved.
Only the supported language interface is changed.
Before and After
Before the conversion, the instrument cluster displayed Japanese text and system messages.
After the work was completed, the same dashboard displayed English driver information including trip data and vehicle settings.
The difference is immediate: information that previously required translation can now be understood directly from the driver’s seat.
Why Convert a Japanese-Import Honda Dashboard?
Japanese imports are extremely popular in Ireland, but their factory systems were designed for drivers in the Japanese domestic market.
Converting the dashboard to English makes the vehicle much easier to use every day.
For the driver, that means:
- easier access to vehicle settings;
- clearer system and warning messages;
- readable trip information;
- simpler driver-assistance menus;
- no need to translate Japanese text while using the car.
Tested After Conversion
Once the conversion was complete, we checked the dashboard functions and English menu displays before returning the vehicle to the customer.
The original cluster remained in place and the Honda factory-style appearance was unchanged.
The finished result is clean, practical and exactly what a Japanese-import conversion should achieve: the same car and the same dashboard, now much easier to understand.
