The 8J from 2006 to 2014, nearly always for the Android screen in the double-DIN slot, because the Concert radio has no display to work with. 8S owners come for CarPlay activation on the Virtual Cockpit and for a wireless adapter, and 8N owners for a single-DIN unit and a speaker upgrade.

Yes. On the 8N and 8J the Android screen is fitted with the adapter that keeps the Bose amplifier and its subwoofer working, and new door speakers are wired into the same amplifier. On the 8S the Bang & Olufsen system stays untouched whether we add a subwoofer or upgrade the speakers.

A little. The roadster has less boot and no rear shelf, so the subwoofer is a small under-seat woofer rather than a boot enclosure. The reversing camera sits above the number plate on both bodies, and on the 8S it is coded into the MMI so it shows on the Virtual Cockpit like a factory one.

CarPlay: Activation on the 8S Virtual Cockpit, an Android screen on the 8J and 8N. Car radio: Android screen in the 8J's double-DIN slot, a single-DIN unit with a floating display on the 8N. Reversing camera: Camera coded into the Virtual Cockpit on the 8S, on the Android screen on the 8J and 8N. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers on every generation; Bose and Bang & Olufsen stay. Subwoofer: Slim enclosure in the coupé boot, under-seat woofer in the roadster, DSP amplifier on the factory signal. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits on the 8N and 8J, extended ambient lighting on the 8S. Parking sensors: Colour-matched sensors with a factory-style tone, shown on the screen where the car supports it. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Speakers: two to four hours depending on how many speakers are changed. Most TT owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
