Yes. The Android screen on the 4L and 4M is fitted with the adapter that keeps the factory amplifier in play, so every speaker and the subwoofer work as before, and the CarPlay box does not touch the audio system at all. The fader, balance and sound settings stay in the MMI menus.

No. The rear camera cable runs along the headliner and into the tailgate loom through the factory grommet, so it clears the third-row seats and survives the tailgate opening. On the TFSI e plug-in the power comes from the 12-volt fuse panel only, with the cut-off set so parking mode cannot drain the battery.

Reversing camera: Camera through the box or a video interface on the 4L, coded into the MMI on the 4M. Dash cam: Hardwired from the driver's side fuse panel with a low-voltage cut-off; 12-volt side only on the plug-in. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kit on the 4L, extended factory ambient lighting on the 4M. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Colour-matched sensors with a factory-style tone, shown on the screen where the car supports it. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Dash cam: one to two hours for a front camera, about two with a rear camera. Most Q7 owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
