W177 cars from 2018 on have MBUX, and most came with CarPlay and Android Auto; early cars without the Smartphone Integration pack did not, and those get our wireless box behind the factory screen — the W177 work we see most. W176 cars on NTG4.5 never had it, so the box is the route. On a W169 the radio has no screen, so we fit an Android screen.

Yes. The box plugs in behind the factory screen, so the COMAND controller, steering-wheel buttons, factory reversing camera and the original radio all keep working, and CarPlay appears on the same display. Nothing is cut, and the car goes back to standard in an hour if you ever want it to.

It depends on the generation. W169 (2004–2012): from €650; W176 (2012–2018): from €450; W177 (2018 on): from €350. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

W169, built 2004–2012 (Audio 20 CD radio or Audio 50 APS navigation in the double-DIN slot; COMAND APS on a few cars): Android screen in the double-DIN slot with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto; the Audio 20 has no display to feed, so the screen is the route. W176, built 2012–2018 (Audio 20 on NTG4.5 with the 5.8 or 7-inch screen; the 2015 facelift brought the 8-inch display, and CarPlay was an option on some cars from 2016): Wireless CarPlay box behind the original NTG4.5 screen, controlled from the COMAND knob and steering buttons; the same box goes on 2016–2018 facelift cars that came without the Smartphone Integration option. W177, built 2018 on (MBUX (NTG6) with the 7 or 10.25-inch touchscreen; CarPlay and Android Auto on most cars, as the Smartphone Integration pack on early ones): Factory CarPlay on most cars, so we add wireless CarPlay and Android Auto; cars without the Smartphone Integration pack get our wireless box behind the MBUX screen.
