The 2013–2020 XE30 never had CarPlay in Europe, whether it has the 7-inch Display Audio, the Premium Navigation or the 10.3-inch screen of the 2017 facelift. A CarPlay box behind the factory screen adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, controlled from the Remote Touch pad, with nothing cut. If you want a touchscreen with DAB and built-in maps, an Android screen replaces the 7-inch unit instead, as we did on a 2014 car.
What about an older IS 200, IS 220d or IS 250?
On the 1999–2005 XE10 and on 2005–2013 XE20 cars with the small radio display there is no screen worth keeping, so the Android screen goes in the factory slot with an IS fascia and plug-in harness and brings wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB and a camera input. XE20 cars with the 7-inch Lexus Navigation touchscreen can take a CarPlay box instead and keep the factory unit.
How much does CarPlay cost on a Lexus IS?
It depends on the generation. XE10 (1999–2005): from €290; XE20 (2005–2013): from €500; XE30 (2013–2020): from €500. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

How long does CarPlay take on a Lexus IS?
XE10: two to three hours; XE20: two to four hours; XE30: two to four hours. You can wait at the workshop or drop the IS in the morning and collect it the same day.
What stays factory when you fit CarPlay on a Lexus IS?
XE10: the display is replaced, but the steering-wheel buttons, the factory amplifier and the climate controls are kept. XE20: the Lexus radio with a small display, or Lexus Navigation with a 7-inch touchscreen; no CarPlay and its controls stay; the box sits behind the trim and is switched from the factory buttons.
