Cars from the 2019 facelift onwards usually do, and the AL30 from 2022 has it wirelessly. The 2009–2015 AL10 and the 2015–2019 AL20, with the 8-inch or 12.3-inch Remote Touch screen, never had it in Europe. On those a CarPlay box behind the factory screen adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto with nothing cut, and the same plug-in box goes on a 2019–2022 car that came without it.
What does the CarPlay box change on the RX?
Nothing you would notice apart from the new source. It sits behind the factory display and plugs into the existing connectors, so the Lexus menus, the reversing camera, the parking display, the Mark Levinson amplifier and the steering-wheel buttons all work as before. You switch to CarPlay or Android Auto from the pad or the buttons, and the car can go back to standard with no trace.
How much does CarPlay cost on a Lexus RX?
It depends on the generation. AL10 (2009–2015): from €500; AL20 (2015–2019): from €500; AL20 (2019–2022): from €500; AL30 (2022 on): from €250. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

How long does CarPlay take on a Lexus RX?
AL10: two to four hours; AL20: two to four hours; AL20: two to four hours; AL30: about an hour. You can wait at the workshop or drop the RX in the morning and collect it the same day.
