Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the 2014 Lexus IS300h

This Lexus IS300h came in for a full front-end refresh. Out went the old factory radio, and in went a sharp modern touchscreen running Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.

Everything runs through the original steering-wheel controls where possible, and the wiring is loomed and hidden for a proper factory-style finish.

Can Apple CarPlay be retrofitted to Lexus models?

In most cases yes. Either an interface is added behind the factory screen, or the head unit is replaced with one that has CarPlay built in. Which route suits Lexus models depends on the year and the screen it was built with — we confirm that before quoting.

Will the steering wheel controls still work?

Yes. The new unit connects through a Lexus IS300h harness and, where the car needs one, a steering wheel interface, so the volume, track and call buttons keep working. A reversing camera can be connected to the same screen.

Is anything cut during the install?

No. The kit uses a fascia and plug-in harness made for the Lexus IS300h, so the factory wiring is not cut. Keep the original radio and the car can go back to stock later if you want.

How long does the fitting take?

Most CarPlay retrofits are done in a few hours, so the car is usually back with you the same day. We book a slot at our Dublin 11 workshop and confirm timing once we know the exact year and trim.
