Radio King does CarPlay and Android Auto retrofit on every Volkswagen Touran generation we see: 1T / 1T2 (2003–2010): Android screen with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto in place of the RCD radio; RNS 510 cars can keep the factory unit and take a CarPlay interface; 1T3 (2010–2015): Touran Android screen replacing the RCD 310 or 510 with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto; a CarPlay interface on the factory screen for RNS 315 and RNS 510 cars; 5T (2015 on): App-Connect activation by coding on MIB2 cars where it was not ordered, plus a wireless adapter for the wired systems; later MIB3 cars usually have wireless CarPlay already, so the work there is maps and region on imports. Usually, yes. The 5T launched with MIB2 Composition Media and Discover Media, and App-Connect is in the software on most cars; where it was not ordered we enable it by coding in about an hour, the original unit stays. It is wired by design, so a wireless adapter plugs into the USB port if you want the phone to connect on its own. Later MIB3 cars usually have wireless App-Connect already.
How much does CarPlay cost on a Volkswagen Touran?
It depends on the generation. 1T / 1T2 (2003–2010): from €450; 1T3 (2010–2015): from €450; 5T (2015 on): from €200. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.
