Nissan · Micra

Nissan Micra upgrades, generation by generation.

Radio King upgrades the Nissan Micra by generation: the K12 and K13 get an Android screen in place of the coded CD radio or the Connect nav, Japanese March imports included, and the K14 has CarPlay on NissanConnect from Acenta up, so the work there is wireless adapters, Visia screens and cameras. Send your reg and we confirm what fits.

Ask on WhatsApp
Which Micra do you see most?

The K13 from 2010 to 2017, including Japanese March imports, nearly always for an Android screen with CarPlay. K12 cars come for the same job when the coded radio has died. K14 owners mostly want a wireless CarPlay adapter or a reversing camera on the factory screen.

Is a Japanese March the same as a Micra for this work?

The K13 March is the same car with a Japanese radio or nav in a wider opening, so it takes the same Android screen with a different fascia, which also gives you the Irish FM band and English menus. The Japanese menus elsewhere in the car are a separate conversion job, quoted alongside if you want it.

Which Nissan Micra generation do I have?

K12 — 2003–2010: Nissan CD radio built into the curved dash on most cars, protected by a security code; no factory screen. K13 — 2010–2017: CD radio with a small display on Visia and Acenta; Nissan Connect 5.8-inch touchscreen nav on some Acenta and Tekna cars, more often after the 2013 facelift; Japanese March imports carry a Japanese unit. K14 — 2017–2023: NissanConnect 7-inch touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto on Acenta and above; a radio with a small display on Visia; Bose Personal headrest speakers on Tekna. Not sure? Send the reg on WhatsApp and we tell you the generation and the route.

What does Radio King fit on a Nissan Micra?

CarPlay: Android screen on the K12 and K13, factory CarPlay with a wireless adapter on the K14 from Acenta up. Car radio: Android screen with a Micra fascia in place of the coded radio or Connect nav on the K12 and K13. Reversing camera: Number-plate camera on the Android screen, or on the NissanConnect input on the K14. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Colour-matched sensors with a factory-style tone, shown on the screen where the car supports it. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

How long do jobs on a Nissan Micra take?

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most Micra owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

Do you keep the factory system on a Nissan Micra?

K12: the Nissan CD radio built into the curved dash on most cars, protected by a security code; no factory screen stays and we add to it. K13: the CD radio with a small display on Visia and Acenta; Nissan Connect 5.8-inch touchscreen nav on some Acenta and Tekna cars, more often after the 2013 facelift; Japanese March imports carry a Japanese unit stays and we add to it. K14: the NissanConnect 7-inch touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto on Acenta and above; a radio with a small display on Visia; Bose Personal headrest speakers on Tekna stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
