Nissan · Elgrand

Nissan Elgrand upgrades, generation by generation.

Radio King fits Android screens to the Nissan Elgrand, every one a Japanese import: the E50 and E51 get a 200 mm wide screen in place of the Japanese nav and TV tuner, the E52 a screen made for its dash with the Around View Monitor and rear flip-down screen kept. Send your reg and we confirm the fit.

Ask on WhatsApp
Which Elgrand do you see most?

The E51 from 2002 to 2010 and the E52 after it, always Japanese imports, always with a Japanese nav that cannot pick up most Irish FM stations. Both get an Android screen with English menus, Irish radio, DAB and wireless CarPlay, with the rear entertainment screen carried over where the van has one.

Why can't the Elgrand's own radio get Irish stations?

Japanese FM runs from 76 to 95 MHz at best, and Irish stations sit between 88 and 108, so an imported Elgrand hears a handful of them at most, and there is no DAB. A band expander is a half measure; the Android screen with a European tuner and DAB is the proper fix, and it brings CarPlay and English menus with it.

Is the rest of the Japanese conversion done at the same time?

It can be. The screen is one job; the Japanese text on the cluster and other menus, and anything else the import needs, is a separate conversion we quote alongside, so you can book one or both in the same visit and collect the van once.

Which Nissan Elgrand generation do I have?

E50 — 1997–2002: Japanese-market radio or Xanavi nav with a TV tuner in a 200 mm wide opening on most cars; Japanese FM band and menus. E51 — 2002–2010: Japanese Xanavi or Clarion nav with Japanese menus in the 200 mm wide opening; some Highway Star cars have a flip-down rear screen fed from it. E52 — 2010 on: Japanese NissanConnect or Clarion nav, 200 mm wide, with Around View Monitor and a rear flip-down screen on higher trims; no CarPlay on most. Not sure? What does Radio King fit on a Nissan Elgrand?

Car radio: 200 mm wide Android screen on the E50 and E51; a screen made for the E52 with cameras and rear screen kept. Reversing camera: Factory-look camera on the factory screen with guidelines, coded in where the car supports it. CarPlay: Activation or a CarPlay box on the factory screen; a wireless adapter where CarPlay is already fitted. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED strips in the cab doors and dash, colour from your phone. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Four sensors in the rear bumper with a buzzer that beeps faster; sound only. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat subwoofer with its own amplifier, nothing in the load area. Soundproofing: Cab doors, floor and bulkhead treated; load area on request.

How long do jobs on a Nissan Elgrand take?

Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Reversing camera: two to three hours. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most Elgrand owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

Do you keep the factory system on a Nissan Elgrand?

E50: the Japanese-market radio or Xanavi nav with a TV tuner in a 200 mm wide opening on most cars; Japanese FM band and menus stays and we add to it. E51: the Japanese Xanavi or Clarion nav with Japanese menus in the 200 mm wide opening; some Highway Star cars have a flip-down rear screen fed from it stays and we add to it. E52: the Japanese NissanConnect or Clarion nav, 200 mm wide, with Around View Monitor and a rear flip-down screen on higher trims; no CarPlay on most stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
