All of the 2014–2017 cars, which have a radio with a small display or SYNC 1 and no way to run CarPlay, and the base facelift cars from 2018 that came with the 4.2-inch radio instead of SYNC 3. The 9-inch unit sits on an EcoSport fascia with the climate controls kept and the steering buttons wired in, and it brings DAB and a reversing camera input. Facelift cars with SYNC 3 keep it.

It depends on the generation. Mk2 (2014–2017): from €290; Mk2.5 (2017–2023): from €290. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

Mk2, built 2014–2017 (Radio with a small display, or SYNC 1 with AppLink on Titanium cars; no touchscreen and no CarPlay): 9-inch Android screen replaces the radio and its button block on an EcoSport fascia; climate controls and steering buttons kept, DAB and a camera input built in. Mk2.5, built 2017–2023 (SYNC 3 with a 6.5 or 8-inch touchscreen and CarPlay and Android Auto on Zetec and above; base cars have a radio with a 4.2-inch display): SYNC 3 stays on most cars; base cars with the 4.2-inch radio get a 9-inch Android screen on the facelift fascia, climate panel kept.

Two to three hours, usually the same day on the Ford EcoSport Mk2 and Mk2.5. You can wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

On every EcoSport we work on — Mk2 and Mk2.5 — the steering-wheel buttons, the factory amplifier and speakers, the reverse camera and the climate controls stay; the new unit adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB and a camera input.
