Yes. The M3 shares its iDrive and body with the 3 Series of the same years, so every route on this page applies. The only difference is the M audio system on some cars, which we check by reg before booking.

Only at the back: the reversing camera sits in the tailgate handle rather than the boot lid, and the rear dash cam runs along the tailgate loom. Screens, CarPlay, speakers and lighting are the same as on the saloon.

E90 / E91 / E92 / E93 — 2005–2013 (E90 saloon, E91 touring, E92 coupé, E93 convertible): Business CD radio without a screen, or Professional navigation with CCC iDrive to 2008 and CIC iDrive on LCI cars from late 2008. F30 / F31 / F34 — 2012–2019 (F30 saloon, F31 touring, F34 Gran Turismo): 6.5-inch Business screen or 8.8-inch Professional: CIC on 2012 cars, NBT from 2013, NBT Evo (ID5/ID6) from 2017. G20 / G21 — 2019 on (G20 saloon, G21 touring): iDrive 7 (ID7) with a 10.25-inch touchscreen; iDrive 8 from the 2022 facelift; CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory. Not sure? CarPlay: Activation on NBT Evo, a CarPlay box on CIC and NBT cars, an Android screen on the E90. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits for the E90 and F30, extended ambient lighting on the G20. Car radio: A 10.25-inch Android screen with the iDrive knob and Harman Kardon kept on the E90 and F30. Dash cam: Hardwired from the glovebox fuse panel with parking mode and a BMW-safe cut-off. Reversing camera: Factory camera coded into iDrive on the F30 and G20, a video-interface camera on older cars. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and under-seat woofers for the Stereo and Hi-Fi systems. Parking sensors: PDC coded into iDrive on the F30 and G20, colour-matched sensors on the E90. Subwoofer: Under-seat subwoofers on a DSP amplifier, or a boot enclosure in the touring. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Dash cam: one to two hours for a front camera, about two with a rear camera. Most 3 Series owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
