Toyota Avensis Android screen & radio upgrade, generation by generation.

All three: the 2003–2008 T250, the 2009–2015 T270 and the 2015–2018 facelift each have a fascia and plug-in harness, so the screen sits flush and nothing is cut. Most of the Avensis work we see is the 2009–2015 T270 saloon and Tourer, where the CD radio or Touch unit gives way to a nine-inch screen with DAB, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto and a reversing camera input.

Yes. The harness carries the steering-wheel buttons through a CAN adapter, so volume, track and phone controls work as before, and the climate panel is a separate unit on every Avensis so it is not touched. On the 2015–2018 facelift, if you prefer to keep the Touch 2 unit, a CarPlay box behind the factory screen is the alternative.

T250, built 2003–2008 (Factory CD radio without a screen; an optional navigation screen on a few cars): Android screen in the factory slot with an Avensis fascia and plug-in harness; DAB, Bluetooth, a camera input and wireless CarPlay, steering-wheel buttons kept. T270, built 2009–2015 (Factory CD radio, Toyota Touch 6.1-inch on some cars from the 2011 facelift; no CarPlay): Nine-inch Android screen using the 2009–2014 Avensis kit in place of the radio or Touch unit; DAB, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, climate panel untouched. T270, built 2015–2018 (Toyota Touch 2 or Touch 2 with Go 8-inch; no CarPlay): Android screen replacing the Touch 2 unit for wireless CarPlay, DAB and built-in maps, or a CarPlay box on the factory screen if you would rather keep it.

Two to three hours, usually the same day on the Toyota Avensis T250 and T270. You can wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
