Peugeot 5008 upgrades, generation by generation.

The T87 MPV from 2010 to 2017, nearly always for CarPlay: a box on SMEG+ cars from 2014 on, and the Android screen on RD4 and RD45 cars. P87 SUV owners come for wireless adapters and, on imported cars, region and map changes on the NAC. The P67 has everything built in, so we rarely see it at our Dublin 11 workshop.

Yes on every generation. The T87 shares its dashboard and radios with the 3008 T84, so the same CarPlay box and Android screen fit, and the P87 uses the same i-Cockpit units as the 3008 P84. Only the rear cable runs differ because the 5008 is longer; everything at the dashboard is identical, down to the fascia.

T87 — 2010–2017 (Seven-seat MPV): RD4 or RD45 radio; RT6 navigation with a colour display on some cars; 7-inch SMEG+ touchscreen from the 2014 facelift; no CarPlay. P87 — 2017–2024 (Seven-seat SUV): i-Cockpit with an 8-inch touchscreen (RCC or NAC), 10-inch from the 2020 facelift; wired CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory on most trims. P67 — 2024 on (Seven-seat SUV): Panoramic i-Cockpit with a 21-inch curved display and i-Connect Advanced; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory. Not sure? CarPlay: A CarPlay box on SMEG+ and RT6 cars, an Android screen on RD4 cars, a wireless adapter on the P87. Car radio: A 5008-specific Android screen replaces the RD4 or RD45 radio on the T87; the SUVs keep their screen. Reversing camera: Factory-look camera on the factory screen with guidelines, coded in where the car supports it. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Four rear sensors and a beeper that speeds up as you close in; nothing on the screen. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most 5008 owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
