Peugeot · 308

Peugeot 308 upgrades, generation by generation.

Radio King upgrades the Peugeot 308 by generation: the T7 gets an Android screen on RD4 and RD45 cars, the T9 takes a CarPlay box on its SMEG touchscreen or a wireless adapter on late Mirror Screen cars, and the P51 has factory wireless CarPlay, so the work is cameras and sensors. Send your reg and we confirm the route.

Peugeot 308: questions people ask.

Ask on WhatsApp
Which Peugeot 308 do you see most in the workshop?

The T9 from 2013 to 2021, mostly 2014 to 2017 cars on SMEG that want CarPlay, so the box route, and 2017 on cars that want a wireless adapter. T7 owners come for the Android screen because the RD4 radio has no display to work with. P51 owners mostly want front sensors and a reversing camera on Active cars.

Is the 308 SW estate any different from the hatch?

For the dashboard work no: the radio, screen and wiring are the same, so CarPlay boxes, Android screens and sensors follow the same route. For the reversing camera the SW tailgate is longer, so the cable run is different and a factory-look camera sits in the handle strip above the number plate, shown on the same screen as in the hatch.

Which Peugeot 308 generation do I have?

T7 — 2007–2013 (Hatch, SW estate and CC): RD4 radio, RD45 with Bluetooth and USB on later cars; WIP Nav or RT6 navigation with a colour display on some; no touchscreen. T9 — 2013–2021 (Hatch and SW estate): 9.7-inch SMEG touchscreen on most cars, SMEG+ on 2015–2017 cars; NAC or RCC with Mirror Screen and CarPlay from the 2017 facelift; RD45 radio on some Access cars. P51 — 2022 on (Hatch and SW estate): i-Cockpit with a 10-inch i-Connect touchscreen, i-Connect Advanced with navigation; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory. Not sure? Send the reg on WhatsApp and we tell you the generation and the route.

What does Radio King fit on a Peugeot 308?

CarPlay: An Android screen on the T7, a CarPlay box on SMEG cars, a wireless dongle on late T9, factory on the P51. Car radio: A 308-specific Android screen replaces the RD4, RD45 or SMEG unit on the T7 and T9; the P51 keeps its screen. Parking sensors: Colour-matched rear or front sensors with a factory-style tone on the T7, T9 and P51. Reversing camera: Camera on the Android screen on the T7, on the SMEG or NAC screen on the T9, on i-Connect on the P51. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

How long do jobs on a Peugeot 308 take?

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Parking sensors: two to three hours for one end, about half a day for front and rear. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Most 308 owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

Do you keep the factory system on a Peugeot 308?

T7: the RD4 radio, RD45 with Bluetooth and USB on later cars; WIP Nav or RT6 navigation with a colour display on some; no touchscreen stays and we add to it. T9: the 9.7-inch SMEG touchscreen on most cars, SMEG+ on 2015–2017 cars; NAC or RCC with Mirror Screen and CarPlay from the 2017 facelift; RD45 radio on some Access cars stays and we add to it. P51: the i-Cockpit with a 10-inch i-Connect touchscreen, i-Connect Advanced with navigation; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
