Peugeot 2008 upgrades, generation by generation.

The A94 from 2013 to 2019, mostly 2014 to 2017 cars on SMEG or SMEG+ that want CarPlay, so the box route. P24 owners come for wireless adapters, reversing cameras and front sensors, and a few for dash cams on the e-2008. Petrol and diesel A94 cars are the same job; only the radio type in the dash matters.

Only in the wiring. The dash cam is hardwired to the 12 V side with a cut-off set for its small battery, never to the high-voltage system, and the reversing camera goes through the same interface as a petrol P24. CarPlay is factory on every e-2008, so the usual request there is a wireless adapter and a camera at our Dublin 11 workshop.

CarPlay: A CarPlay box on SMEG cars, an Android screen on RD45 cars, a wireless adapter on the P24. Reversing camera: Camera on the SMEG screen through an interface on the A94, on the factory screen on the P24. Car radio: A 2008-specific Android screen replaces the RD45 or SMEG unit on the A94; the P24 keeps its screen. Parking sensors: Colour-matched rear or front sensors with a factory-style tone; front sensors added to the P24. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with a low-voltage cut-off; 12 V side only on the e-2008. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Parking sensors: two to three hours for one end, about half a day for front and rear. Most 2008 owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
