Car radio on each E-Class: how we do it.

Find your years in the first two columns. The factory system decides the route, and the route decides the price — send the reg if you are not sure which one you have.

FAQ

Mercedes-Benz E-Class car radio: questions people ask.

Answers for E-Class owners. Something else? Message us on WhatsApp — we usually reply in under 5 minutes.

Ask on WhatsApp
Does the COMAND controller still work with an Android screen in an E-Class?

Yes. The E-Class-specific units plug into the COMAND knob, the touchpad on W213 cars and the steering-wheel buttons, so you scroll and click exactly as before, and touch works too. On W213 cars with Burmester the screen is fitted with the fibre-optic adapter, so the factory amplifier and every speaker stay in play. The 2019 E220d we did this way kept everything.

Which Android screen fits a W212 with the small Audio 20 display?

A 10.25-inch unit that replaces the dash display and keeps the COMAND controller, with DAB, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto and a reversing camera input built in. It fits both NTG4 and NTG4.5 cars with the right harness, and the harman/kardon amplifier is retained on cars that have it. Fitting is half a day.

How much does car radio cost on a Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

It depends on the generation. W211 (2002–2009): from €290; W212 (2009–2016): from €800; W213 (2016–2023): from €800. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

Which Mercedes-Benz E-Class years can have car radio?

W211, built 2002–2009 (Audio 20 or Audio 50 APS radio, COMAND APS on NTG1; the 2006 facelift brought NTG2.5): 9-inch Android screen with an E-Class fascia in place of the Audio 20 or COMAND, steering-wheel buttons, DAB and camera input included. W212, built 2009–2016 (Audio 20 or COMAND on NTG4 to 2013; the 2013 facelift brought NTG4.5 with Audio 20 CD or COMAND Online and the 5.8 or 7-inch screen): 10.25-inch Android screen replacing the dash display, COMAND controller and steering buttons kept, DAB and camera input built in. W213, built 2016–2023 (Audio 20 or COMAND Online on NTG5.5 with the 8.4 or 12.3-inch screen and CarPlay as an option; the 2020 facelift brought MBUX (NTG6) with CarPlay on most cars): 12.3-inch Android screen replacing the 8.4 or 12.3-inch display on 2016–2020 cars, COMAND knob and touchpad kept, Burmester cars on the fibre-optic adapter.

How long does car radio take on a Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

Two to three hours, usually the same day on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class W211, W212 and W213. You can wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

What stays factory when you fit car radio on a Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

On every E-Class we work on — W211, W212 and W213 — the steering-wheel buttons, the factory amplifier and speakers, the reverse camera and the climate controls stay; the new unit adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB and a camera input.

Do I need to book car radio for my Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and is there a warranty?

Yes — send the reg or the year and generation (W211, W212 and W213) on WhatsApp or the form below, and we confirm the route, the price and the next free slot. The work carries a one-year warranty, and the workshop is in Rosemount Business Park, Dublin 11, Monday to Saturday.
