E53, E70 and 2013 to 2016 F15 cars get the CarPlay box: it feeds CarPlay and Android Auto into the factory screen and is controlled from the iDrive knob or the factory buttons. 2017 and 2018 F15 cars with NBT Evo can usually be activated by coding, no parts. The G05 has CarPlay from the factory. Send the reg and we confirm which one yours is.
How much does CarPlay cost on a BMW X5?
It depends on the generation. E53 (2000–2006): from €350; E70 (2006–2013): from €350; F15 (2013–2018): from €250; G05 (2018 on): from €450. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

E53: two to four hours; E70: two to four hours; F15: under an hour; G05: about an hour. You can wait at the workshop or drop the X5 in the morning and collect it the same day.
What stays factory when you fit CarPlay on a BMW X5?
E53: the Business radio, or the 16:9 navigation screen with the MK4 system and its controls stay; the box sits behind the trim and is switched from the factory buttons. E70: the Professional navigation with CCC iDrive to 2009, CIC iDrive from 2010 and its controls stay; the box sits behind the trim and is switched from the factory buttons. F15: nothing physical changes — the 10.25-inch Professional screen with NBT, NBT Evo (ID5/ID6) on 2017–2018 cars stays and the CarPlay tile simply appears. G05: CarPlay is factory-fitted, so we only add to it.
