Can CarPlay be activated on an X3 F25?

No — the F25 has CIC or NBT, and neither had CarPlay in the software, so activation is not possible. The route is a CarPlay box behind the dash that shows CarPlay and Android Auto on the factory screen, controlled from the iDrive knob. Activation starts with the G01 and its ID6 system.

How much does CarPlay cost on a BMW X3?

It depends on the generation. E83 (2003–2010): from €500; F25 (2010–2017): from €500; G01 (2017–2024): from €250. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

Which BMW X3 years can have CarPlay?

How long does CarPlay take on a BMW X3?

E83: two to four hours; F25: two to four hours; G01: under an hour. You can wait at the workshop or drop the X3 in the morning and collect it the same day.

What stays factory when you fit CarPlay on a BMW X3?

E83: the Business CD radio, or Professional navigation with CCC iDrive and its controls stay; the box sits behind the trim and is switched from the factory buttons. F25: the Business 6.5-inch screen or Professional 8.8-inch: CIC iDrive to 2013, NBT from the 2014 facelift and its controls stay; the box sits behind the trim and is switched from the factory buttons. G01: nothing physical changes — the NBT Evo (ID6) 10.25-inch touchscreen to 2020, iDrive 7 (ID7) from the 2021 facelift stays and the CarPlay tile simply appears.
