Renault Clio upgrades, generation by generation.

The Clio IV from 2012 to 2019, mostly for the Android screen with wireless CarPlay in place of Media Nav, and often a reversing camera at the same time. Clio III owners come for the same screen because the original radio has no display. Clio V owners mostly want a wireless adapter, front sensors or better speakers.

Yes. Renault radios lock after the battery is disconnected and the four-digit code is on a card in the handbook or on the Renault app for newer cars. If the card is long gone we can read the code from the unit's pre-code in the Dublin 11 workshop, or if you were thinking of upgrading anyway, this is the moment to put the Android screen in instead.

Mk3 — 2005–2012 (three and five-door hatch, Sport Tourer estate): Renault CD radio without a screen (Update List); Carminat TomTom navigation on some 2009-on cars. CarPlay: An Android screen on the Mk3 and Mk4, a wireless adapter on the Mk5 where Easy Link already has CarPlay. Car radio: Our 9-inch Clio Android screen for 2014–2019 cars, a fascia-kit unit on the Mk3, entry cars only on the Mk5. Reversing camera: Number-plate camera on the Android screen on the Mk3 and Mk4, into Easy Link on the Mk5. Parking sensors: Rear sensors matched to the paint on older cars, front sensors added to Mk5 cars with rear only. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters on every generation; Bose cars keep their amplifier. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Parking sensors: two to three hours for one end, about half a day for front and rear. Most Clio owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
