Renault Trafic upgrades, generation by generation.

Radio King upgrades the Renault Trafic van by van: the Mk2 has no screen, so it gets a double-DIN Android unit; the 2014–2021 Mk3 gets our Android screen in the Media Nav slot or a wireless adapter; 2021-on vans with Easy Link keep the factory screen and we add cameras and sensors. Send your reg and we confirm the route.

Generations

Which Trafic do you have?

The head unit decides the route, and it changed with every generation. Find your years, then pick the service above for what we fit and from what price.

FAQ

Renault Trafic: questions people ask.

Answers for Trafic owners. Something else? Message us on WhatsApp — we usually reply in under 5 minutes.

Ask on WhatsApp
Which Renault Trafic do you see most in the workshop?

The 2014 to 2021 Mk3, nearly always for the Android screen and a reversing camera together: the van is used for work, the driver wants maps and calls on a proper screen, and the camera makes reversing a long-wheelbase van easier. Mk2 vans come in for the same reason with a double-DIN unit. Facelift vans with Easy Link mostly want a camera and front sensors.

Is the Trafic the same job as the Vivaro and Primastar?

For the 2001 to 2014 and 2014 to 2019 vans, yes: the Opel and Vauxhall Vivaro and the Nissan Primastar of those years are the same van with a different badge, so the same screens, fascias and camera routes fit. From 2019 the Vivaro moved to a Peugeot platform, so only the Renault Trafic and the Nissan Primastar of 2021 on share the Easy Link dash.

Can you do the work on a Trafic camper conversion?

Yes. Campers usually want the same Android screen plus a reversing camera, and often a second camera input for a rear-view mirror. The cable run to the rear of a long-wheelbase conversion takes longer because of the furniture, so tell us it is a camper when you book and we allow the extra time in the Dublin 11 workshop.

Which Renault Trafic generation do I have?

Mk2 — 2001–2014 (panel van, crew van and Passenger minibus): Renault single-DIN CD radio without a screen on most vans; Carminat TomTom navigation on a few late vans. Mk3 — 2014–2021 (panel van, crew van, Passenger and SpaceClass): Media Nav or Media Nav Evolution 7-inch on most vans, R-Link Evolution on some; Android Auto and CarPlay only on later Media Nav Evolution units. Mk3.5 — 2021 on (panel van, crew van and SpaceClass): Easy Link 8-inch touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto on most vans; a basic radio with a phone cradle on entry trims. Not sure? Send the reg on WhatsApp and we tell you the generation and the route.

What does Radio King fit on a Renault Trafic?

Car radio: A double-DIN Android screen on the Mk2, our 9-inch Trafic unit on the Mk3, only entry vans on the Mk3.5. Reversing camera: Number-plate or brake-light camera on the Android screen, on Easy Link, or on a mirror monitor. CarPlay: An Android screen on Mk2 and Mk3 vans without mirroring, a wireless adapter where Easy Link has CarPlay. Parking sensors: Rear sensors in the bumper with a cab buzzer; front sensors added to vans that came with rear only. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED strips in the cab doors and dash, colour from your phone. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat subwoofer with its own amplifier, nothing in the load area. Soundproofing: Cab doors, floor and bulkhead treated; load area on request.

How long do jobs on a Renault Trafic take?

Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Reversing camera: two to three hours. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Parking sensors: two to three hours for one end, about half a day for front and rear. Most Trafic owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

Do you keep the factory system on a Renault Trafic?

Mk2: the Renault single-DIN CD radio without a screen on most vans; Carminat TomTom navigation on a few late vans stays and we add to it. Mk3: the Media Nav or Media Nav Evolution 7-inch on most vans, R-Link Evolution on some; Android Auto and CarPlay only on later Media Nav Evolution units stays and we add to it. Mk3.5: the Easy Link 8-inch touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto on most vans; a basic radio with a phone cradle on entry trims stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.

How do I book a Renault Trafic in, and is there a warranty?

Send the reg or the year on WhatsApp or the form below and we confirm the generation, the route, the price and the next free slot. Every job carries a one-year warranty on the work, done at our workshop in Rosemount Business Park, Dublin 11, Monday to Saturday.
