Renault Master upgrades, generation by generation.

The 2010 to 2024 Mk3, for a reversing camera above all: it is a long van and most came without one. Vans from before 2019 usually take our Android screen at the same time, because the radio or Media Nav has no phone mirroring. Campers and motorhomes on the Master chassis are regular visitors for the same two jobs.

For 2010 to 2021 vans, yes: the Opel and Vauxhall Movano of those years is the Master with a different badge, so the screens, fascias and camera routes are identical, and our Movano-badged kit fits the Renault. The 1998 to 2010 Movano was also a Master. From 2021 the Movano moved to a Fiat Ducato platform, so only the Renault keeps the Master dash from then on.

A camera on a panel van is two to three hours, an Android screen with a camera is half a day, and a camper with a long cable run or a second camera is booked as a day. Drop the van at the Dublin 11 workshop in the morning and it is usually ready the same afternoon; tell us the body type when you book so the time is right.

Mk2 — 1998–2010 (panel van, chassis cab, minibus and campers): Renault single-DIN CD radio, no screen. Mk3 — 2010–2024 (panel van, chassis cab, Luton and campers; front and rear-wheel drive): Single-DIN radio or Carminat TomTom to 2014; Media Nav or Media Nav Evolution 7-inch from the 2014 facelift, with CarPlay and Android Auto on most 2019-on vans. Mk4 — 2024 on (panel van, chassis cab and E-Tech electric): OpenR Link 10-inch touchscreen with Google built-in; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto on most vans. Not sure? Reversing camera: Rear-door camera on the Android screen, into Media Nav Evolution or OpenR Link, or a mirror monitor. Car radio: A double-DIN Android unit on the Mk2, a Master Android screen replacing the radio or Media Nav on the Mk3. CarPlay: An Android screen on Mk2 and early Mk3 vans, a wireless adapter where the factory screen has CarPlay. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED strips in the cab doors and dash, colour from your phone. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Colour-matched sensors with a factory-style tone, shown on the screen where the car supports it. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat subwoofer with its own amplifier, nothing in the load area. Soundproofing: Cab doors, floor and bulkhead treated; load area on request.

Reversing camera: two to three hours. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most Master owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

Mk2: the Renault single-DIN CD radio, no screen stays and we add to it. Mk3: the Single-DIN radio or Carminat TomTom to 2014; Media Nav or Media Nav Evolution 7-inch from the 2014 facelift, with CarPlay and Android Auto on most 2019-on vans stays and we add to it. Mk4: the OpenR Link 10-inch touchscreen with Google built-in; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto on most vans stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
