Renault · Captur

Renault Captur upgrades, generation by generation.

Radio King upgrades the Renault Captur by generation: the Mk1 gets our Android screen in the Media Nav or R-Link position, the 2019–2024 Mk2 already has CarPlay on Easy Link so it gets a wireless adapter, cameras and sensors, and the 2024 facelift with OpenR Link needs only cameras and sensors. Send your reg and we confirm what fits.

FAQ

Renault Captur: questions people ask.

Answers for Captur owners. Something else? Message us on WhatsApp — we usually reply in under 5 minutes.

Ask on WhatsApp
Which Renault Captur do you see most in the workshop?

The 2013 to 2019 Captur I, usually for the Android screen with wireless CarPlay in place of Media Nav, often with a reversing camera in the same visit. Captur II owners mostly come for front parking sensors, a wireless CarPlay adapter and a camera on cars that came without one. It is the same platform as the Clio, so the same parts fit.

Is the E-Tech hybrid any different for the work?

Only in where power comes from. The hybrid has a small 12 V battery that runs the electronics, and everything we fit is wired on that side: the traction battery is never touched. Cameras, sensors and adapters are the same parts as on a petrol Captur II, fitted in the Dublin 11 workshop in the same time.

Which Renault Captur generation do I have?

Mk1 — 2013–2019: Media Nav 7-inch on most cars, R-Link on Signature trims, a basic radio on entry cars; Media Nav Evolution from the 2017 facelift with Android Auto on later units. Mk2 — 2019–2024 (including E-Tech hybrid and plug-in hybrid): Easy Link 7-inch or 9.3-inch portrait touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto; a radio with a phone cradle on entry trims. Mk2.5 — 2024 on: OpenR Link 10.4-inch portrait screen with Google built-in; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto on most trims. Not sure? Send the reg on WhatsApp and we tell you the generation and the route.

What does Radio King fit on a Renault Captur?

CarPlay: Our Android screen on the Mk1, a wireless adapter on Mk2 cars where Easy Link already has CarPlay. Parking sensors: Rear sensors matched to the two-tone bumper on the Mk1, front sensors added to Mk2 cars. Reversing camera: Tailgate camera on the Android screen on the Mk1, into Easy Link or OpenR Link on the Mk2. Car radio: A 9-inch Captur Android screen for the Mk1, only entry-trim cars without a screen on the Mk2. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

How long do jobs on a Renault Captur take?

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Parking sensors: two to three hours for one end, about half a day for front and rear. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Most Captur owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.

Do you keep the factory system on a Renault Captur?

Mk1: the Media Nav 7-inch on most cars, R-Link on Signature trims, a basic radio on entry cars; Media Nav Evolution from the 2017 facelift with Android Auto on later units stays and we add to it. Mk2: the Easy Link 7-inch or 9.3-inch portrait touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto; a radio with a phone cradle on entry trims stays and we add to it. Mk2.5: the OpenR Link 10.4-inch portrait screen with Google built-in; wireless CarPlay and Android Auto on most trims stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.

How do I book a Renault Captur in, and is there a warranty?

Send the reg or the year on WhatsApp or the form below and we confirm the generation, the route, the price and the next free slot. Every job carries a one-year warranty on the work, done at our workshop in Rosemount Business Park, Dublin 11, Monday to Saturday.
