The 2009 to 2015 Astra J, nearly always for the Android screen with wireless CarPlay, because the CD400 and Navi units cannot mirror a phone; a reversing camera usually goes in at the same time. Astra H cars come for the same screen, and Astra K owners for a wireless adapter, front sensors and a camera on cars that came without one.

Yes. Vauxhall is the British badge on the same car, so a UK-import Astra takes the same screens, fascias, cameras and speaker adapters as an Irish Opel. Right-hand drive is the same on both, and the fuse box, the radio loom and the steering-button wiring are identical, so nothing about the route changes when the car came in from the UK.

An Android screen or a camera is about half a day, a wireless adapter can be done while you wait, and sensors or speakers take two to three hours. Drop the car at the Dublin 11 workshop in the morning and it is usually ready by early afternoon.

CarPlay: Our Android screen on the Astra H and J, a wireless adapter on the Astra K and L with factory CarPlay. Car radio: Our 9-inch Astra Android screen for 2009–2015 cars, a fascia-kit screen on the Astra H, entry cars on the K. Parking sensors: Colour-matched rear or front sensors on the H and J, front sensors added to K and L cars with rear only. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters on every Astra; Infinity cars keep the amplifier. Reversing camera: Tailgate camera on the Android screen on the H and J, into IntelliLink on the K. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Parking sensors: two to three hours for one end, about half a day for front and rear. Speakers: two to four hours depending on how many speakers are changed. Most Astra owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
