The box keeps the original Audio 20 screen, COMAND knob and radio, and adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto behind it; it is the cheaper job and the car goes back to standard in an hour. The 10.25-inch Android screen replaces the small pod display, so you get a larger touchscreen, DAB and a camera input as well. The 2014 and 2016 B-Class cars we have done both went for the screen.

Yes. The Audio 20 has no display worth feeding, so the route is a B-Class-specific Android screen in the double-DIN slot: wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB, Bluetooth and a reversing camera input, with the steering-wheel buttons and the factory speakers kept. It is the same job we did on a B150, and it takes half a day.

W246, built 2011–2018 (Audio 20 on NTG4.5 with the 5.8 or 7-inch pod screen; the 2014 facelift brought the 8-inch display, and CarPlay was an option on some cars from 2016): Wireless CarPlay box behind the original NTG4.5 screen with the COMAND knob kept, or a 10.25-inch Android screen replacing the pod display — the route most B-Class owners pick. W247, built 2019 on (MBUX (NTG6) with the 7 or 10.25-inch touchscreen; CarPlay and Android Auto on most cars, as the Smartphone Integration pack on early ones): Factory CarPlay on most cars, so the work is wireless CarPlay and Android Auto; early cars without the Smartphone Integration pack get a wireless box behind the MBUX screen.
