Radio King upgrades the Hyundai Santa Fe by generation: CM and DM cars with the basic radio take a car-specific Android screen with wireless CarPlay and a camera input, TM cars from 2018 already have CarPlay and take a wireless adapter, and the MX5 is wireless from the factory, leaving cameras. Send your reg and we confirm what fits.
The head unit decides the route, and it changed with every generation. Find your years, then pick the service above for what we fit and from what price.
| Generation | Years | Body | Factory system |
|---|---|---|---|
| CM Second generation | 2006–2012 | five and seven-seat | CD radio with no screen on most cars; 7-inch touchscreen navigation on some cars after the 2010 facelift |
| DM Third generation | 2012–2018 | five and seven-seat, Grand Santa Fe | Radio with a small display, Bluetooth and USB on most cars; 7-inch touchscreen navigation on Premium trims, without CarPlay |
| TM Fourth generation | 2018–2024 | petrol, diesel, hybrid and plug-in hybrid, seven seats | 7-inch display audio with CarPlay and Android Auto on 2018–2020 base cars, 8-inch navigation on higher trims; 8-inch display audio with wireless CarPlay or 10.25-inch navigation after the 2020 facelift |
| MX5 Fifth generation | 2024 on | hybrid and plug-in hybrid, seven seats | 12.3-inch ccNC touchscreen with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory |
Generation-by-generation guides first — the Santa Fe jobs we see most. The rest of the workshop's services are done on every Hyundai too.
Real Hyundai cars from the Dublin 11 workshop — Santa Fe first, then the rest of the range: what was fitted and what changed on the dash.
Car-specific screens, CarPlay boxes and activations for Hyundai: supply-only with delivery across Ireland, or fitted at our Dublin 11 workshop.

Answers for Santa Fe owners. Something else? Message us on WhatsApp — we usually reply in under 5 minutes.
Ask on WhatsAppDM cars from 2013 to 2018, nearly always for the Android screen with a reversing camera and parking sensors in the same visit, as in our published case study. CM owners come for the same screen, TM owners for a wireless CarPlay adapter on the wired navigation, which takes about half an hour.
Only longer. The camera cable runs the full length of the car and the third-row side trim comes out to hide it, so a camera on a seven-seat CM or DM takes about an hour more than on a five-seat car. The Grand Santa Fe is the same job with a slightly longer run, and the result is identical.
CM — 2006–2012 (five and seven-seat): CD radio with no screen on most cars; 7-inch touchscreen navigation on some cars after the 2010 facelift. DM — 2012–2018 (five and seven-seat, Grand Santa Fe): Radio with a small display, Bluetooth and USB on most cars; 7-inch touchscreen navigation on Premium trims, without CarPlay. TM — 2018–2024 (petrol, diesel, hybrid and plug-in hybrid, seven seats): 7-inch display audio with CarPlay and Android Auto on 2018–2020 base cars, 8-inch navigation on higher trims; 8-inch display audio with wireless CarPlay or 10.25-inch navigation after the 2020 facelift. MX5 — 2024 on (hybrid and plug-in hybrid, seven seats): 12.3-inch ccNC touchscreen with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory. Not sure? Send the reg on WhatsApp and we tell you the generation and the route.
Reversing camera: Camera in the tailgate handle on the Android screen or the factory screen; factory camera on TM and MX5. CarPlay: Android screen on CM and DM cars, a wireless adapter on the TM; the MX5 is wireless from the factory. Car radio: A 9 or 10-inch Android screen in place of the CM or DM radio; TM and MX5 keep the factory screen. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Parking sensors: Four sensors in the rear bumper with a buzzer that beeps faster; sound only. Dash cam: Hardwired from the fuse box with parking mode and a low-voltage cut-off, cables hidden. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.
Reversing camera: two to three hours. CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Ambient lighting: two to four hours. Most Santa Fe owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
CM: the CD radio with no screen on most cars; 7-inch touchscreen navigation on some cars after the 2010 facelift stays and we add to it. DM: the Radio with a small display, Bluetooth and USB on most cars; 7-inch touchscreen navigation on Premium trims, without CarPlay stays and we add to it. TM: the 7-inch display audio with CarPlay and Android Auto on 2018–2020 base cars, 8-inch navigation on higher trims; 8-inch display audio with wireless CarPlay or 10.25-inch navigation after the 2020 facelift stays and we add to it. MX5: the 12.3-inch ccNC touchscreen with wireless CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory stays and we add to it. Steering-wheel buttons, factory amplifiers and cameras are carried over on every route; the only route that changes what you see is an Android screen, and even then the controls are kept.
Send the reg or the year on WhatsApp or the form below and we confirm the generation, the route, the price and the next free slot. Every job carries a one-year warranty on the work, done at our workshop in Rosemount Business Park, Dublin 11, Monday to Saturday.
