OS cars from 2018 to 2022, split between base cars wanting the Android screen and touchscreen cars wanting a wireless CarPlay adapter, with front parking sensors the next most common request. SX2 owners come for dash cams and front sensors, both done while you wait, as the fuse box and bumper are easy to reach.

On the OS it is nearly always one sensor rather than the module: a sensor damaged by a kerb or moisture makes the whole front set fall silent. We test each sensor, replace the faulty one with a colour-matched unit and check the wiring behind the bumper, and on cars that never had front sensors we add a factory-style set with the same tone.

OS — 2017–2023 (petrol, hybrid and Kona Electric): 5-inch display audio without CarPlay on base 2017–2020 cars; 7-inch touchscreen or 8-inch navigation with CarPlay and Android Auto on most; 8-inch display audio with wireless CarPlay or 10.25-inch navigation after the 2021 facelift. CarPlay: Android screen on base OS cars, a wireless adapter on touchscreen OS cars; factory wireless on the SX2. Car radio: A 9-inch Android screen in place of the 5-inch display audio on base OS cars; the SX2 keeps its screen. Parking sensors: Front sensors added to OS and SX2 cars with rear only; factory front sensor faults diagnosed. Reversing camera: Camera in the tailgate handle on the factory screen or the Android screen; factory camera on the SX2. Dash cam: Hardwired from the driver's-side fuse box with a cut-off; 12 V side only on Electric and hybrid cars. Ambient lighting: Ambient LED kits in doors and dash, extended factory ambient on newer cars, app controlled. Speakers: Plug-in door speakers and tweeters, factory head unit and amplifier kept, no cutting. Subwoofer: Under-seat or boot subwoofer on a DSP amplifier fed from the factory unit, boot space kept. Soundproofing: Doors and floor treated with butyl and foam, trim refitted without marks.

CarPlay: under an hour for activation, two to four hours for a box or a screen. Car radio: two to three hours, usually the same day. Parking sensors: two to three hours for one end, about half a day for front and rear. Reversing camera: two to three hours. Most Kona owners wait at the workshop or drop the car in the morning and collect it the same day.
