Every SX2 from 2023 has it from the factory, wireless on most cars. On the OS it depends on the screen: the 7-inch touchscreen, 8-inch and 10.25-inch navigation all have CarPlay and Android Auto, wired on most, so a wireless adapter is the usual job; base 2017–2020 cars with the 5-inch display audio have none and get an Android screen. Yes. The Electric shares its screens with the petrol Kona of the same year, so the same adapter or Android screen applies. The adapter runs from the USB port and the screen from the 12 V circuit, so nothing is connected to the high-voltage side, range is unaffected and the factory screen and buttons carry on as before.

It depends on the generation. OS (2017–2023): from €650; SX2 (2023 on): from €150. Fitting is done at our Dublin 11 workshop — send the reg and we confirm the exact price before you book.

OS, built 2017–2023 (5-inch display audio without CarPlay on base 2017–2020 cars; 7-inch touchscreen or 8-inch navigation with CarPlay and Android Auto on most; 8-inch display audio with wireless CarPlay or 10.25-inch navigation after the 2021 facelift): Base cars with the 5-inch display audio get an Android screen with wireless CarPlay; cars with the 7, 8 or 10.25-inch factory screen have CarPlay already and get a wireless adapter where it is wired. SX2, built 2023 on (12.3-inch touchscreen on ccNC with CarPlay and Android Auto from the factory, wireless on most cars): Factory CarPlay and Android Auto on every SX2, wireless on most cars; the work is set-up, and a wireless adapter on the few cars that connect by cable only.

OS: two to three hours; SX2: about an hour. You can wait at the workshop or drop the Kona in the morning and collect it the same day.

OS: the display is replaced, but the steering-wheel buttons, the factory amplifier and the climate controls are kept. SX2: CarPlay is factory-fitted, so we only add to it.
