Only cars with a factory touchscreen: the 7-inch on IA facelift cars from 2017 on higher trims, and the 8-inch on most AC3 cars from 2020. Both are wired, so a wireless adapter is the usual job there. Base AC3 cars with the basic radio, most IA cars and every PA have no screen, so they get an Android screen with wireless CarPlay. The Android screen on IA cars from 2014 to 2019 and on base AC3 cars, which is what the i10 in our case study had, done with a reversing camera and rear sensors in the same visit. On touchscreen cars it is the wireless adapter, a half-hour job that leaves the factory screen and buttons exactly as they were.

PA, built 2008–2013 (CD radio with no screen; Bluetooth and USB on later cars): Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto through an Android screen in the original radio slot, the only route on the PA. IA / BA, built 2014–2019 (Radio with a small display, Bluetooth and USB on most cars; 7-inch touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto on higher trims after the 2017 facelift): Android screen with wireless CarPlay in place of the factory radio on most cars; 2017–2019 cars with the 7-inch touchscreen already have wired CarPlay and take a wireless adapter. AC3, built 2020 on (Basic radio with a small display on base cars; 8-inch touchscreen with CarPlay and Android Auto on most trims, wired on most cars we have seen): Base AC3 cars with the basic radio get an Android screen with wireless CarPlay; cars with the 8-inch factory touchscreen have wired CarPlay already, so they get a wireless adapter.

PA: two to three hours; IA / BA: two to three hours; AC3: two to three hours. You can wait at the workshop or drop the i10 in the morning and collect it the same day.
